Some of the
Sharing our Faith group including the elect, their
sponsors,
some of the leaders and Father Kevin, visited the
Monastery of Our Lady
and St. Bernard at Stroud for a day of reflection.

We were welcomed with tea and biscuits before listening to a talk by Sister
Mary Stephen on the meaning of the cross. Later we joined the community and
other guests in their chapel.
Following this we were provided with a hearty lunch, although initially there
was some confusion over apple crumble served with boiled potatoes........

After another afternoon discussion with some
reminiscences of the past we were
free to spend some quiet time for reflection in the peaceful surroundings around
the Monastery. |

There only remained for our volunteer drivers with their navigators (and back
seat drivers) to wend their way back to Langley. Altogether a pleasant change
from our busy lives. |
