Those who had been received into the Church and into our parish over the last ten years or so gathered with their families, Sharing our Faith leaders and members of the Parish Pastoral Council on Friday, 5th June, 2009,  for an evening of celebration.

A short liturgy began
with everybody
processing to the
baptismal font and
dipping their hands
in the water to remind
us that we have all
begun our Christian
journey in the waters
of baptism.

Our attention then turned to the ambo and we listened to the prophet Isaiah as he proclaimed that God had called us all by name.

Those who had been received into the Church were then invited to come forward to sign their names in our beautiful
Book of the Elect and say something of what belonging the parish community of Holy Family had meant for them.

Finally, everybody left the church with a blessing and a
commission to tell others the Good News.

The whole ceremony was accompanied by hymns and music.

The celebrations continued with a party in our
social club.

During the evening there was a display of Irish Dancing from the
Angela O’Connor School of dancers who rehearse regularly in
St Joseph’s room.

Bar Manager, Jeanette laid on an incredibly tasty buffet for everyone.  At the end of the evening FR. Kevin offered his thanks to everyone involved in the preparations for the evening and also to everyone who had attended.
