The O'Connor Academy of Irish Dancing
was founded in 2007 by Angela O'Connor.
Since then the class has been consistently growing.
Irish dancing is a cultural dance form originating from Ireland.
It incorporates many skills such as timing, rhythm, flexibility and
posture.
In our classes these skills are developed
further and beyond.
The classes are taught in a fun environment but are
also
disciplined to bring out the best dancer in each
individual.
The classes are aimed to teach children and adults the
traditional steps that make Irish dancing unique
but also with the contemporary
twist that
has made Irish dancing the phenomenon that it is today.
Dancers with the academy are trained
both competitively and for show standard.

Former dancer in Michael Flately's Lord of the dance and lead
dancer in Stormforce
Angela
danced competitively until the age of 18, whilst also studying
performing arts. She then went on to travel the world with Lord
of the dance for three and a half years.
On returning from her
world travels, Angela decided to study and qualify as a Irish
dancing T.C.R.G.t personal trainer and sports therapist. She then performed lead dancer in Stormforce
productions during it's London run.
Stormforce was a new show
which was conceived by fusing two of the most popular music and
dance genres in the world.....Irish and African!
Angela's most recent performance was dancing for Max
Clifford at his engagement party.
